CLD PRESENTS...
Without
Saturday, November 3rd, 2001
Crystal Palace, London

Yes, "People", we were feeling "down-hearted..."
"So low down" that we could "die-ay-ay"...

His faithful UK followers were doing their best to cope with the disappointment that  His UK tour had been postponed to the spring, and whilst there "ain't nothing like the real thing baby"...
there was no alternative... We were "havin' a party!"

Many joined us
People flocked from afar to be entertained by fellow Donny-worshippers in a unique show of music and comedy.

They relived the glory of the seventies as 14 year-old
Lewis Devine
the "sweet & innocent" winner of the Stars in their Eyes Kids Special,
performed some of Donny's biggest hits!

Then the congregation listened in awe and wonder as His Supreme Purpleness greeted them over the phone from the desert where he worked tirelessly to bring joy to the world.

Afterwards they let their hair down and danced the night away to all their favourite Os-tunes!

The Sisters have been inundated with requests to share some of the fun and frivolity enjoyed on this special night, so to relive the hilarious memories if you were fortunate enough to attend, or to have a taste of what you missed, read on...
Sister Petunia & Sister Celestine expose a few 'home truths' with their humble performance!
Susan Odev
Gemma Farmer
Our talented compere, Susan Odev, kept everyone entertained throughout the evening with her take on life as a Donny-addict...

(Click on her photo, left, for  your chance to experience a small sample of her own brand of wit and wisdom!)
Susan was proud to introduce our first guest performer, young Donny-worshipper, Gemma Farmer, who offered a splendid rendition of that lovely hymn, The Twelfth of Never.

Next came a 'Sister-Act' with a difference!

Sister Petunia & Sister Celestine made a very special appearance before their fellow worshippers for their own choral offering...

(For a transcript of the sisters' song lyrics, click on their picture on the right)
Then it was time for a gardening interlude... Horticultural expert, Jan Dyer, inspired everyone present with some indepth gardening knowledge you will not want to live without...

Jan, our 'beds' will never be the same again!

Top of the bill was our own little Donny look-a-like and sound-a-like, 14 year old Lewis Devine!
He wowed everyone with his wonderful emulation, and even evoked the same screams and rushes of the stage that His Supreme Purpleness has caused over the years when he reached the "Someone help me..." part of our favourite hymn, Puppy Love!

"They tried to tell us we're too young..."
Paul Barlow assisting in whatever "Crazy" way possible!
Something for everyone! "Brother Paul" (Paul Barlow) assisted compere, Susan, in her attempts at pleasing the few Marie-worshippers in the congregation with her rendition of that famous Patsy Cline song, "Crazy"...

"Ad they called it...... Puppy Love.....!"
The real D-vine One made Lewis' dreams come true with a special telephone call from the other side of the Atlantic.... Lewis couldn't believe he was speaking to the real
DONNY OSMOND!

Well, we said "ain't nothin' like the real thing", but Lewis, you came pretty close!
The Sisters send humble thanks to Lewis & all involved for helping to make our
"Evening Without Donny Osmond!" a resounding success!

Old friendships were renewed and new ones
were made.
Friends... Until the Twelfth of Never...
"I love Donny... and I don't care who knows it!"
His Supreme Purpleness wasn't able to be there in person, but His presence was certainly felt throughout this wondrous occasion.
Thank you to Karen & Pauline for permitting the use of their
photos for these pages.
